Wellness Shots

Have you ever tried the teeny tiny wellness shots from the grocery store that are around $2.99-3.99 per bottle? What if I told you you can make your own for under $10 and get 10-12 servings worth? Would you do it?

I've made these twice now and I learned a lot from the first time. First, you need a good large capacity blender, such as a ninja. If needed, you can split the recipe in half and then combine it all in a bowl. Second, a pouring cup and a funnel will make your life a lot less messy.

Servings: 10-12, 2 oz servings

Ingredients:

1 naval orange

2 lemons

1 1/2 lbs fresh ginger root

1 tbsp turmeric

1 tsp black pepper

16oz (2 cups) coconut water

Directions:

Roughly peel your orange and lemons and slice into large chunks and place in a good blender. Largely chop your ginger root (keep the skin on) and add it to your blender. Finally, add turmeric, black pepper, and coconut water to your blender. Cover and blend until everything is well-blended. Strain through a fine mesh strainer (push down on the pulp to get everything out). Using a funnel, pour juice into individual bottles, about 2-2.5oz in size, or a Mason jar will work. Refrigerate and enjoy.
