Iced Matcha Bubble Tea

I found instant boba packets at my local Japanese store and I just had to try them! I got the brown sugar flavor and they are just sweet enough that I didn’t feel the need to add any more sweetener. I had some leftover matcha powder from last year’s cocoa bomb escapade so I decided to treat myself with an iced matcha bubble tea. Honestly, this is just as good if not better than any bubble tea I’ve had in the Boston area. Give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments!

Servings: 1 drink

Ingredients:

1 packet instant brown sugar boba (see pic below)

1/2 tsp matcha powder

6-8 oz milk of choice (I use 1%)

Ice

Simple syrup or maple syrup, optional

Directions:

Heat 1 boba packet according to package instructions. Mix matcha powder with 4 oz (1/2 cup) hot water until the matcha dissolves. Place in fridge until you’re ready to use. In a glass such as a mason jar, add your boba, dissolved matcha, and 6-8 oz (3/4-1 cup) milk of your choice. Add ice and sweetener of choice (I don’t add either). Enjoy!
