If our pickiest malamute loved these, I'm sure they will be a hit with your pup! We try to feed our malamutes a grain-free diet and I was running low on their usual treats so I figured it was a great opportunity to make some of my own and I (surprisingly) had all of the ingredients I needed on hand. You'll probably ask yourself if buying these somewhat expensive ingredients are worth it, and for me the answer is always yes!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups coconut flour
4 eggs
1/2 cup peanut butter*
1 cup unsweetened applesauce* (or sweet potato puree or pumpkin puree)
1/2 cup coconut oil (liquid)
*make sure there are no added ingredients
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl to form a homogenous dough. You will need to use your hands towards the end. Roll out your dough between two long pieces of parchment paper (trust me, do it this way) about 1/4" thick. Using a cookie cutter of your choice, cut and carefully lift the treats and place them on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until cookies are hard. Let them cool completely and then store in an airtight container.
